Our May featured artist is laser cut wood artist, Melissa Scherrer Paré of Moraye. Hatch will be showcasing her latest laser cut wood/handpainted wall art designs along with her Moraye jewelry line. Melissa has exhibited her artwork nationally with shows in Brooklyn, Boston, Chicago and Albuquerque. Currently her primary focus is creating functional objects and art pieces out of wood. She features jewelry, often hand painted or inlaid with brass, made from trees cut down in urban areas of Wisconsin.
The artist reception will be coinciding with the MMoCA Spring Gallery Night, Friday, May 6th from 5-9 pm and the show will run May 1st through the 31st.

Here is a nice article on Melissa’s show in the Wisconsin State Journal.
