December Happenings

During the month of December, Hatch Art House will be celebrating their 2nd anniversary by showcasing all 40 Hatch artists with gift giving art for $40 or less. As always, Hatch only represents Wisconsin based artists with the majority from the Madison area. Hatch also has an emphasis on upcycled and recycled material both in artwork and in the shop itself. The artist reception will be Friday, December 14th from 6-9pm. Many local artists will be in attendance to talk about their work. We’ll have sweet treats and festive drinks on hand.
This holiday season, remember to shop small businesses and stay local. Hatch features ONLY Wisconsin artists, 95% of which are from the Madison area. When you buy from Hatch you know you are buying local.

Also,

Hatch is one of the 3 galleries involved in the spring Habitat for Humanity Restore Salvage Art Show… they are having their Call for Artists until January 7th. Feel free to ask me (Tammy) questions or contact the Restore. We’d love to have your work in the Salvage Art Show! http://www.restoredane.org/art-show-201/

November Featured Artist:Lynn Lee

The November featured artist is Madison painter and multi-media artist, Lynn Lee. Lynn is a former San Francisco gallery owner and interior designer and has a background in various art mediums which he incorporates into his work. Lynn has been busy creating acrylic paintings of everyday (Willy Street) neighborhood scenes and sometimes the unexpected abstract. Lynn has a love for anything having to do with interior design and home decor. “There is nothing more personal than how a family lives and what they chose to surround themselves with.”
Lynn will have his work showcased at Hatch Art House from November 1-30 with an artist reception Friday, November 9th from 6-9pm. Refreshments will be served.

Upcycled Art at Hatch

As many of you know, the deadline to the EcoSquared Art Show is November 21st. I thought I’d share with you some of the artwork in the gallery that incorporates upcycled materials. Upcycled is still a fairly new term, you can learn more here. And remember, the main criteria for Ecosquared is to use something upcycled, have it measure between 6″ square to 8″ square, and have it ready to hang on the wall. We are so excited to see what all of you creative Wisconsinites come up with! Please feel free to leave questions or concerns here in the comment section.
