For the months of October and November, Hatch Art House will be showcasing the paintings of Milwaukee artist, Dave Watkins. “Dave’s work is influenced by daily interactions with his surroundings. As an abstract painter, his canvas becomes the city, using texture and layers of color to reflect thoughts, feelings, and experiences. A passing train, an urban alley – Each painting takes the viewer on a private journey with their own interpretations.”
The artist reception will be coinciding with the MMoCA Fall Gallery Night, Friday, October 6th from 5-9 pm and the show will run October 1st through November 30th.
Our May featured artist is laser cut wood artist, Melissa Scherrer Paré of Moraye. Hatch will be showcasing her latest laser cut wood/handpainted wall art designs along with her Moraye jewelry line. Melissa has exhibited her artwork nationally with shows in Brooklyn, Boston, Chicago and Albuquerque. Currently her primary focus is creating functional objects and art pieces out of wood. She features jewelry, often hand painted or inlaid with brass, made from trees cut down in urban areas of Wisconsin.
The artist reception will be coinciding with the MMoCA Spring Gallery Night, Friday, May 6th from 5-9 pm and the show will run May 1st through the 31st.

The Hatch Art House October featured artist is Milwaukee mixed media painter, Nina Bednarski. She states; “I paint primarily with enamel on glass or acrylic on canvas with some variance using mixed media. Most of my work plays homage to nature’s perfection while blurring the line between urban and bucolic.” Hatch will be showcasing Nina’s latest landscape reverse glass paintings for the month, along with a selection of giclee prints.
