For the month of July, Hatch Art House is featuring artists of Polka! Press, a local printmaking collective.
Their shared studio space is equipped with screen-printing and letterpress equipment, and members’ art making practices include bookmaking, textile design, and other print methods. The cooperative was founded in 2011 with the goal of promoting a vibrant local printmaking culture by offering access to printmaking facilities and providing educational opportunities to the Madison community.
The show will run for the month of July with an artist reception Friday, July 13th from 6-9pm. Refreshments will be served.
For the months of October and November, Hatch Art House will be showcasing the paintings of Milwaukee artist, Dave Watkins. “Dave’s work is influenced by daily interactions with his surroundings. As an abstract painter, his canvas becomes the city, using texture and layers of color to reflect thoughts, feelings, and experiences. A passing train, an urban alley – Each painting takes the viewer on a private journey with their own interpretations.”
The artist reception will be coinciding with the MMoCA Fall Gallery Night, Friday, October 6th from 5-9 pm and the show will run October 1st through November 30th.
The September featured artist, Molly Krolczyk, is a Madison based acrylic painter. Molly is known for her vibrant and colorful still lifes and landscapes.
Molly’s artwork will be showcased at Hatch, September 1st-30th with an artist reception Friday, September 8th 6-9pm. Refreshments will be served.
