Join Hatch Art House this July and August for another show of upcycled square art – the 2024 EcoSquared Art Show!
Hatch showcases a curated selection of various artworks by over 75 Wisconsin artists most of the year, but opens the front two walls of the gallery to all Wisconsin based artists for the EcoSquared show nearly every year since 2012.
EcoSquared (eco for eco-friendly, squared for square art) focuses entirely on square works of art made with upcycled materials by local artists. This year will be a massive show of upcycled artworks with nearly 120 pieces made by over 40 Wisconsin artists.
Hatch Art House will be hosting an Artist Reception to celebrate the opening of the 2024 EcoSquared Art Show on Friday July 12th from 5pm-8pm.
EcoSquared will be open for viewing during store hours (Mon-Fri 11am-6pm, Sat 11am-5pm, Sun 11am- 4pm) from July 1st to August 31st.
ARTIST RECEPTION: Friday, January 11th, 2019 6-9pm
PICKUP ARTWORK: March 1st-4th, 2019.
As many of you know, here at Hatch Art House we have a few goals that we strive for on a daily basis.
When you buy something from Hatch, you know it’s being produced locally. Our rule is that you must reside in Wisconsin to be a Hatch artist; although, the majority of our 75+ artists live in the Madison area. We have an emphasis on repurposing, upcycling and recycling… if we can keep things out of the landfill and give it a new life in art, we’ve done a great thing. We strive to offer something for everyone at affordable prices in a casual and creatively charged environment.
In early 2012, Hatch embarked into the world of hosting art shows! Hatch being a small space, a SMALL WORKS art show seemed appropriate; thus EcoSquared Art Show was born. Also, an upcycling theme along with affordable pricing to continue with the Hatch emphasis. The show will run January 8th through February 28th, 2019, with an artist reception on Friday, January 11th. The deadline for entry is December 21st. The guidelines are listed in the printable forms, which I encourage you to pass on to anyone you think would be interested. This show will be juried mainly to make sure all entries fit into the scheme and follow the guidelines. As well as being a painter and dabbler of many other art forms, I was also a juror for the 2013 Art Fair Off the Square, 2012 MMoCA Art Fair on the Square and the MMoCA 2011 Holiday Art Fair.
If you’ve submitted your artwork to Hatch in the past, I encourage you to enter this show. This is your opportunity to be a Hatch artist! Small SQUARE artworks….have fun creating!

For the months of October and November Hatch will be showcasing the works of Jennifer Darner Wolfe, Madeleine Parker and Jenny Blasen. Join us for their artist reception, Friday, October 5th 5-9pm. (Fall Gallery Night!) The artists will be in the gallery ready to talk ceramics with you! Refreshments will be available.
