In other years, we would be celebrating an artist’s work with a Friday night reception. 2020 has obviously changed things, so instead of a party we are showcasing ninjagrl and her work through social media and of course, in the gallery for the entire month of October. We hope you stop by Hatch soon and see the entire collection in person. Our shopping protocols are easy- Wear a mask, use the provided hand sanitizer and distance yourself from others! Weekdays are slowest, so it’s a great time to stop in. If you’d like to purchase an item you see on social media all you have to do is respond or message us and we’ll set up an email invoice! It’s really simple and easy to do.
We would love it if you follow along via Instagram and/or Facebook!
As we do our best to navigate through our new daily routine, I wanted to give you the option to purchase a gift card for future use. I know many you would like to support us during this crazy time. All you have to do is follow the above link and it’s a simple purchase. Gift cards do not expire and you can send it to a friend or yourself. If you send it to yourself now you can always share it with a friend later!
Hatch Art House has been on Willy Street in Madison, Wisconsin for 9 1/2 years, can you believe it?! We will pull through this! Our neighborhood is a strong bunch and the support is felt everyday. With Much Gratitude-Tammy
ARTIST RECEPTION: Friday, January 10th, 2020 6-9pm
PICKUP ARTWORK: March 1st-4th, 2020.
As many of you know, here at Hatch Art House we have a few goals that we strive for on a daily basis.
When you buy something from Hatch, you know it’s being produced locally. Our rule is that you must reside in Wisconsin to be a Hatch artist; although, the majority of our 75+ artists live in the Madison area. We have an emphasis on repurposing, upcycling and recycling… if we can keep things out of the landfill and give it a new life in art, we’ve done a great thing. We strive to offer something for everyone at affordable prices in a casual and creatively charged environment.
In early 2012, Hatch embarked into the world of hosting art shows! Hatch being a small space, a SMALL WORKS art show seemed appropriate; thus EcoSquared Art Show was born. Also, an upcycling theme along with affordable pricing to continue with the Hatch emphasis. The show will run January 8th through February 29th, 2020, with an artist reception on Friday, January 10th. The deadline for entry is December 21st. The rest of the dates to know are listed on the calendar above and on the forms below.
The guidelines are listed in the printable forms, which I encourage you to pass on to anyone you think would be interested. This show will be juried mainly to make sure all entries fit into the scheme and follow the guidelines. As well as being a painter and dabbler of many other art forms, I was also a juror for the 2013 Art Fair Off the Square, 2012 MMoCA Art Fair on the Square and the MMoCA 2011 Holiday Art Fair.
If you’ve submitted your artwork to Hatch in the past, I encourage you to enter this show. This is your opportunity to be a Hatch artist! Small SQUARE artworks….have fun creating!
Please use this page for questions, concerns, and comments about the EcoSquared Art Show.
For the months of October and November, Hatch Art House will be showcasing the artwork of Wisconsin artist, Nicci Martin. “Nicci Martin describes her work as “FUNctional art,” and her paintings, sculptures, accessories and mixed media creations certainly live up to that description. Whimsical, creative and colorful, Nicci’s art draws inspiration from nature and a wide range of influences, with flowers, birds, dogs and more playing out in bold, vibrant hues.” The artist reception will be coinciding with the MMoCA Fall Gallery Night, Friday, October 4th from 5-9 pm and the show will run October 1st through November 30th.
For the month of June, we are hosting “The Mug Show” with JD Wolfe Pottery! Lots of mugs and plenty of other functional ceramics created by Jennifer Wolfe. The artist reception will be Friday, June 7th, 6-9pm. Jen will be on hand to answer all your pottery questions! Refreshments will be served.
Our May featured artists are mixed media assemblage artist, Bruce Furlin and contemporary painter, Peggy Engsberg Furlin. Let’s celebrate their works of art during MMoCA’s Spring Gallery Night! Artist reception is Friday, May 3rd 5-9pm. Refreshments will be served. Hatch will be showcasing Peggy and Bruce’s artwork from May 1st -31st. Check out the Facebook event here.
