March Featured Artist: Sarah Hemm

 

The Hatch Art House March featured artist is Sarah Hemm. Her work will be showcased all month long with an opening reception Friday, March 9th from 6-9pm. Refreshments will be served.
Sarah Hemm is a contemporary fiber/textile artist and maker of unique, handmade goods for your home. She is interested in the DIY, subversive craft movement and strives to be a unique contributor to the handmade community. She has been an artist her entire life, and has exhibited her work for over ten years. Currently Sarah is working on a series of 366 embroideries, one finished for each day of 2012. Hatch is showcasing her embroideries.

February Featured Artist, Liv Aanrud

The Hatch Art House February featured artist is Liv Aanrud. Her work will be showcased all month long with an opening reception Friday, February 10th from 6-9pm. Refreshments will be served.
Liv Aanrud creates sculptures, wall hangings and functional work using scrap metal, a piece of something that changes form once again. Liv explains; “I like that metal work can look old and new, and changes with the shifting daylight. I use imagery that draws from the natural world in the hopes that my art will be half as interesting as looking out of the window.”

Welcome to Twenty-Twelve

Hatch is now thirteen months old. Whew…what a year 2011 was! SO many ups and downs in our wonderful city.

Here at Hatch, December was amazing…thanks to EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED US!!! Now, back to reality:)

Featured artist for the month of January, is Madison artist and crafter, Linnea Phillips of “Naystalgia Vintage Creations”. Linnea’s creations all incorporate some vintage and/or upcycled materials. Most items are one-of-a-kind and everything is unique. The idea is to upcycle materials to minimize our carbon footprint. Her creations include; Candles made with vintage glassware (soy wax, all-natural), bird houses made from cigar boxes and reclaimed hardware, tote bags and children’s items made from vintage fabrics, reclaimed switchplate covers with vintage paper and mittens made from recycled sweaters.
Stop in from 6-9pm Friday, January 13th… refreshments will be served!
